Endea Owens

Endea Owens is one of the most captivating and charismatic figures of the new generation of jazz artists. A bassist, composer, and recording artist raised in Detroit, she studied under jazz legends such as Marcus Belgrave, Rodney Whitaker, and Ron Carter. She has performed and toured with artists including Wynton Marsalis, Jennifer Holliday, Diana Ross, Rhonda Ross, Solange, Jon Batiste, Jazzmeia Horn, Dee Dee Bridgewater, and Steve Turre.

In 2018, she graduated from the prestigious Juilliard School and soon after joined Stay Human – the house band on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Since then, she has received an Emmy, a Grammy, and a George Foster Peabody Award. Her music can be heard on Jon Batiste’s Grammy-winning album We Are, in the Oscar-nominated film Judas and the Black Messiah, and during H.E.R.’s performance at Super Bowl LV.
