Marcin Wasilewski Trio
The Marcin Wasilewski Trio, a leading Polish jazz group with international renown, is celebrating its 30th anniversary in its original lineup: Marcin Wasilewski (piano), Sławomir Kurkiewicz (double bass), and Michał Miśkiewicz (drums).
The group has recorded 11 albums, including 7 for the prestigious ECM Records, and has won a record 11 Fryderyk Awards. For over 20 years, they collaborated with Tomasz Stańko, and their albums have appeared on the Billboard’s Jazz Album Charts.
Wasilewski was twice recognized as a “rising star of the piano” by DownBeat Magazine, and the Trio regularly wins in Jazz Forum polls. They have performed at venues like the Village Vanguard in New York and at the world’s largest jazz festivals.
Their music is characterized by extraordinary harmony, intuition, and emotional depth, appreciated by both critics and audiences worldwide. The Trio draws inspiration from the European jazz tradition, blending it with modern sounds and masterful improvisation.
In 2024, they embarked on the “30th Anniversary Tour,” performing in Europe, North America, and Asia.
