On October 20 and 27 in Warsaw, the first of three editions of the JAZZ PO POLSKU Festival will take place, with the main theme of the event being freedom, which is inseparably linked with the idea of jazz music.

On Sunday, October 20, the first day of the festival will take place, featuring performances by: Piotr Damasiewicz & Power of the Horns Ensemble – one of the most influential Polish avant-garde jazz big bands, founded by trumpeter Piotr Damasiewicz; Krvnska Quartet, the debuting band of violinist Aleksandra Kryńska; and Light Star Guiding, a free jazz-trance group featuring, among others, British saxophonist Ray Dickaty, known from the rock band Spiritualized. At the beginning of the evening, the audience will have the opportunity to watch a screening of films recorded during JAZZ PO POLSKU concert tours in Asia from 2014-2024, directed by Maciej Głowiński.

The second day of the festival, planned for October 27, will be opened at 6:00 p.m. by musicians from India – tabla player Pranshu Chatur Lal and violinist Sumnath Manjunath, who will conduct the “Rhythm Raga” workshop. The musicians will also perform a duet with an original program combining Indian music and European traditions, and will be part of the JAZZ PO POLSKU ENSEMBLE – a project specially prepared for this occasion by guitarist and composer Kuba Wójcik, complemented by double bassist Andrzej Święs and drummer Krzysztof Szmańda. That evening will also feature representatives of the young scene – Paweł Krawiec Trio, finalists of the 2023 international Jazz Juniors competition.
