Sultan Stevenson
“His way of shaping silence and developing simple phrases into something extraordinary signals the emergence of a master.” – The Telegraph
Sultan Stevenson is one of the fastest-rising pianists on London’s jazz scene. In 2023, he won the UK Parliamentary Award for “Best Newcomer,” and in 2025, he was nominated for the Jazz FM Award in the Breakthrough Act category.
He trained at the Julian Joseph Jazz Academy, Tomorrow’s Warriors, and the Guildhall School of Music. He made his debut in 2020 and has performed at venues such as Jazz Cafe, The Vortex, and the EFG London Jazz Festival. His influences include McCoy Tyner, Kenny Kirkland, Geri Allen, and Ahmad Jamal.
His debut album, Faithful One (2023), led to performances at the Love Supreme Festival and the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival. In 2024, he played at SXSW in Texas and Jazzahead in Bremen, opening doors to European stages such as Jazz Jantar in Gdańsk, Jamboree in Barcelona, and Duc des Lombards in Paris.
In March 2025, he will release his second album, El Roi, under Edition Records. The album launch concert will take place at the Purcell Room in Southbank Centre, followed by a tour that includes stops at Jassmine in Warsaw, Jazz Dock in Prague, and Unterfahrt in Munich.
Sultan Stevenson is undoubtedly the future of jazz!
